Plot Overview

The story is set four years after the events of the first movie, where we now see Laddu (Vishnu Oi) in jail. A group of students visits the prison, curious to know how he ended up behind bars. From here, the flashback begins.

Laddu’s wedding is called off after his fiancée runs away. Heartbroken, he and his old gang — Manoj (Ram Nithin), Ashok (Narne Nithin), DD (Sangeeth Shobhan), and Shiva — plan a trip to Goa. But things go south when they get mixed up in a heist involving a missing necklace and a dangerous gangster named Maxx. What follows is a wild rollercoaster of comedy, action, and confusion as the boys try to get out of trouble.

Cast Performances

One of the strongest points of Mad Square is its lead cast. The chemistry between Narne Nithiin, Sangeeth Shobhan, and Ram Nithin is natural and full of fun. Their comic timing and expressions keep the energy high throughout the film.

Vishnu Oi, who plays Laddu, adds emotional depth while also delivering laugh-out-loud moments. Priyanka Jawalkar as Laila brings freshness and spark to the story. The supporting cast also does a decent job in keeping the scenes engaging.

Direction and Technical Aspects

Kalyan Shankar, the director, keeps the mood light and fast-paced, just like the first film. His strength lies in handling comedy and youthful storytelling. Though the second half gets a bit chaotic, the film still manages to hold your attention.

The visuals are colorful and vibrant, thanks to cinematographer Shamdat Sainudeen, especially the Goa sequences. Navin Nooli’s editing ensures the film is crisp and doesn’t feel long. The runtime of about 127 minutes works well.

The songs by Bheems Ceciroleo are catchy and match the movie’s tone. S. Thaman’s background score boosts the action and comic scenes, giving the film an extra punch.

Critical Reception

Critics had mixed opinions about the film:

  • Some called it a fun, time-pass entertainer with solid comedy and performances.
  • Others felt the second half lacked structure, and the story got a bit silly.
  • Most agreed that the film works mainly because of the actors and their comic timing.

On average, it got around 2.5 to 3 stars out of 5 on popular sites. While it’s not perfect, it’s definitely watchable for its laughs and youthful vibe.

Audience Response

The public has shown solid support for Mad Square. Especially among college students and youth, the film has clicked big time. They loved the relatable friendship, hilarious one-liners, and fast-paced storyline.

Despite average critic scores, word of mouth is strong, and box office numbers prove that. The film has crossed ₹70 crore, which is a big success for a comedy sequel in Telugu cinema.

Conclusion

Mad Square is a full-on entertainer that gives you exactly what it promises — laughs, chaos, and bromance. It may not have a deep or meaningful story, but if you’re in the mood for a fun movie with your gang, this one hits the spot.

With solid performances, peppy music, and nonstop comedy, Mad Square continues the legacy of the first film and delivers a paisa vasool experience. If you enjoyed the first part, you’ll definitely have fun with this one too.
